Mike Connors was named Bruins athletic director on August 6, 2012. Before assuming this position he spent ten years as a member of the Lawrence North baseball coaching staff where he served as both the JV head coach and varsity assistant coach. During that time, LN was the only school to win the MIC (Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference) championship three consecutive years 2009-2011. Connors also coached over 20 players who went on to play baseball in the collegiate ranks and one MLB first round draft pick. He also spent twelve years teaching United States History at Belzer Middle School where he coached baseball, basketball and football for the Bruins.

Improvements to the athletic facilities begun during his tenure include the replacement of both the football and basketball scoreboards, installation of dugouts and a fence on the baseball field, resurfacing of the tennis courts and an upgrade of the finish in the Hiatt Gym and lighting in the Hiatt Gym. The construction of the new softball field was also completed under his direction as was the recently completed upgrade to the track and spectator amenities which include new walkways, concession stands, and restrooms.

He is actively involved in the state athletic director's association having served on the IIAAA strategic planning commitee in 2014-2015, and the middle school guidebook review committee. He also serves as the director of the Marion County basketball and volleyball tournaments and the president of the 15 member Metropolitan Indianapolis Interscholastic Conference (MIIC).

Mr. Connors is from Hobart, Indiana and played baseball at Andrean High School. He is a avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears as well as the Butler Bulldogs. He is a graduate of Butler University, received his master’s degree from Indiana University. and his administrative licensure from Indiana Wesleyan University. 

He and his wife Amber, also a teacher, are the proud parents of two sons Evan and Reid.
